Co-Production

Co-Production Within Wakefield District

What is co-production?

Although we are proud to be an independent organisation, we recognise the need for services to work together in order to make positive change possible. This is why co-production is one of the main principles within Wakefield Parent Carer Forum.

To us this means working with, representing and involving SEND parent/carers, the local authority, and health services to make sure that SEND services, care and support within Wakefield is the best it can be.

We regularly involve our forum members in developing local SEND services, feeding back their experiences, and raising any area's of concern. We also share examples of good practice, and pass on positive feedback where things are working well and recognition is deserved.

Wakefield Parent Carer Forum work in co-production with Wakefield Council & Wakefield Integrated Care Board, which means we are involved in most things SEND related across the district.

Since we launched we have met on a fortnightly basis to discuss any issues, share information and any plans for the district. Our co-production meeting includes the LA, ICB, WISENDSS, EP, SENART, and us, plus any special guests we invite as required such local councillors, and other service managers. These meetings have proved to be an invaluable tool to all parties involved, and have helped us to build a strong working relationship with all members.
