Young Lives Consortium
Young Lives Consortium (YLC) is a membership organization of Voluntary Community Sector (VCS) groups working with children, young people and families across the Wakefield District.
We aim to represent, support and strengthen VCS organizations providing services for children, young people, and families by administering a range of services including timely and up to date information, advocacy and representation, expertise, skills share, training, and much more.
YLC members come into contact annually with:

- Over 7,000 families

Wakefield and District Down's Syndrome Support Group
The group is run entirely by parent volunteers. The aim of the group is to provide a support network, information and fun activities for people with Down's syndrome, their families and friends. We raise awareness and promote social inclusion.
We support families in Wakefield and the surrounding area with both Down's syndrome and other learning/additional needs.
We run regular sessions for tots, families, older people with Down's syndrome, and siblings, and we also have a series of events throughout the year.

Kidz Aware is not-for-profit charity/social enterprise with 3 core values at our heart: Equality; Inspiring; Embracing. We exist to ensure that all children and adults with a disability have the opportunities to achieve their aspirations in life.

Beat Autism
We are a locally based registered charity dedicated to helping parents and carers with children on the Autistic Spectrum. We support families from across the Wakefield district. Our aim is to make a major positive difference to these families' lives. We offer workshops that are packed full of all the essential information, skills and strategies that are needed to bring about a huge change.

Stride
Our performing arts based workshops are designed to build communication and confidence, to drive motivations, and to develop self-esteem and awareness for others, whilst collaborating and working as a team to create inspiring theatre. Health, happiness and psychological wellbeing is Stride's remit. Stride Theatre facilitates people with varying needs to create innovative theatre based practice and performance. Stride provides opportunities for people to meet others in a relaxed and supportive setting. We offer person centred interventions to enable each participant to develop and extend their life skills, teamwork, friendships and when appropriate signpost opportunities for further learning experiences and employment.
We are all unique and have a need to share our life experiences. The joys, motivations, aspirations and challenges of being in the world can be expressed through practically based theatrical expression and guided improvisations. Stride has a strong reputation for supporting and enabling those with social, physical and mental health issues to communicate effectively in order to explore, lobby and raise awareness of our exceptional lives in a positive and creative manner.
